Enquanto Somos Humanos / While We Are Human (COLLABORATION), 2019

While We Are Human is a creation of the choreographer Michelle Moura and the performer Maikon K. Both artists have been investigating for years themes such as alteration of consciousness, the limits between human and non-human, mythologies and construction of realities. In this project, they question the spectrum of what it is to be human. How were we programmed to be human? Is it possible to intervene in this programme?

On your knees. Lying down. On all fours. Standing.
From what perspective look?
What language to use?
Which pieces to put together?

Chimera:

1. mythological monster with lion head, goat body and snake tail;
2. Heterogeneous or incongruous combination of several elements;
3. creation of imagination, fiction, illusion;
4. being artificial, created from fusions, interventions, idioms, beliefs, members, interdictions, liquids, certainties.

Can I do this here?
I see what has already been named.
I speak what it has been told me.
I reproduce old gestures.
What guilt should I bear?
It's beautiful. It's so beautiful. Why is it beautiful?
Why is it good? Who says it's good?
Is that what they call silence?
We don't speak for all humanity.

Ambos artistas investigam há anos temas como a alteração da consciência, os limites entre humanos e não humanos, mitologias e construção de realidades. Neste projeto, eles questionam o espectro do que é ser humano. Como fomos programados para sermos humanos? É possível intervir neste programa?

Quimera:

1. monstro mitológico com cabeça de leão, corpo de cabra e cauda de cobra;
2. Combinação heterogênea ou incongruente de vários elementos;
3. criação de imaginação, ficção, ilusão;
4. ser artificial, criado a partir de fusões, intervenções, expressões idiomáticas, crenças, membros, interdições, líquidos, certezas.
